Terms of Use

1. Scope

Deepspace (深空放映 in Chinese, “the app”) is developed and operated by Guizhou Redshift Deep Space Technology Co., Ltd. (贵州红移深空科技有限公司, “we”, “us”). By downloading, installing or using the app, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy.

2. The service

• The app is a video player and media library tool for Apple devices that helps you connect your own media sources, organize your library and play it.
• The app doesn’t provide any films or shows, and it doesn’t search for sources, aggregate streaming sites, search torrents or search cloud-drive shares.
• Accounts, memberships, AI and film information rely on online services. We may adjust, add or retire features as the product evolves.

3. Lawful use

• Only use the app to play media you own or are allowed to use. You are responsible for the lawfulness of the sources you connect and their content.
• Don’t use the app to obtain, share or play infringing or unlawful content, don’t interfere with or disrupt our services, and don’t use verification codes, AI or other services through automated or otherwise abnormal means.
• Don’t submit unlawful content to AI features. AI translations and answers may be inaccurate or incomplete and are for reference only.

4. Accounts

• Your local library and playback work without an account. You can sign in with a mainland China phone number, WeChat, Apple or Google.
• For now, each sign-in method corresponds to a separate account. Always use the same method to reach the same account’s membership and synced data on your devices.
• Keep your devices and sign-in methods secure. Actions taken through your sign-in method are treated as your own.
• You can delete your account in the app at any time. Account data is then deleted as described in the Privacy Policy and can’t be recovered.

5. Memberships and payments

• The app offers two kinds of membership: Basic and AI. Tiers, prices, billing periods and renewal rules are as shown on the purchase page.
• Subscriptions are free during testing. Memberships can be upgraded; downgrades aren’t supported yet.
• AI memberships include a usage quota per billing period. Quota and reset coupon rules are as described in the app.
• After release, payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds for memberships bought through the App Store follow Apple’s rules.

6. Third-party services and open-source software

• Sign-in, AI and film information use third-party services, which are also subject to their own terms.
• Film and TV information in the app comes from TMDB. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
• The app includes components distributed under open-source licenses, including the LGPL and MPL. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under those licenses; for components distributed under the LGPL, you may reverse engineer them as needed to debug your modifications to them. The license texts are available in the third-party software notices in the app.

7. Intellectual property

The app’s software, interface design, names, trademarks and logos belong to us or their respective owners. Except as allowed by open-source licenses, you may not copy, modify, rent, sell or redistribute the app without our written permission.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

• The app is provided as is. We work to keep it stable and reliable but can’t promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
• For problems caused by your media sources, network, device or third-party services, we will do our best to help but are not liable for the resulting losses.
• To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect losses arising from using or being unable to use the app.

9. Changes and termination

We may update these terms to reflect legal or product changes and will point out material changes on this page and in the app. If you breach these terms, we may restrict or stop providing related services to you. You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time.

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China (for the purposes of these terms, excluding the laws of the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions and Taiwan). Both parties should first try to resolve disputes through negotiation; failing that, either party may bring a lawsuit before the competent people’s court where we are located.
